Barbie Dream House
Okay – i’m way way way behind in posting….i found the camera cable, finally, only to now have my very old G4 start to massive fail on me again. I turn around for a moment and it has shut down….making any computer task challenging.
So before my tower dies again – here are a few house notes from a few months ago….
Back in March, In an attempt to knock a few more things off our list – I went from just looking at catalogs and items I wanted to order to finally ordering the dang things. The kitchen was the first focus and the things we ordered were switch plates for the kitchen and bathrooms and a counter for the microwave.
When the house got it’s plaster touch-up and paint job – the week before we moved in – we removed all the switch plates in the house. They were all cruddy plastic ones, in a variety of “dirty hand” colors, so rather than replace them we just left them off with plans to replace them. Seems like an easy task – right? nope. There are soooo many types and materials…do we go period accurate, basic, higher end, stamped metal, hand tooled metal????
Well, we settled on thick ceramic ones from Restoration up in Seattle. They look really good and all arrived in one piece. I’ll have to post a photo of them installed as well. A few are not in place yet as we need to replace the actual electrical portion.
This is our itty bitty counter cabinet from JCP. It was easy to put together but makes Ikea’s quality look stellar – but at 50% off, what do you expect. Jesse did the honors and put it together in no time.
And here it is! it was suppose to be a rolling island, but i needed it to fit under the window (which it does perfectly) without the wheels.
I also got cabinets knobs which i’ll post next.
whew, made it before the computer died….POST!
