double time

The windows will be here on the 31st of July.  Demo begins right after. It’s going to get really really dusty and dirty in the house.

I think I’m ready for this….?

Let the circus begin!

We’re back on the remodel track!

Well, after a few months of research, hurry up & wait, and mixed information – we finally ordered our windows!! Now mind you its only 6 – but it’s a start.  4 of them are for the soon to be fabulous TV room, 1 is for the landing and one if for the guest room.  All of these windows, except for 2, are the original windows – and while it makes me a wee bit sad to remove them – they are soooo old, so damaged and so beyond reasonable repair.  I’m going to see if they can remove them without too much additional damage and maybe down the road i can re-purpose them for a greenhouse or something.

We were operating under the notion that it would take 6-8 weeks to get the windows, but it turns out it will only be about 3 weeks – so guess what!? yep, thats right! time for a fresh list!!!!

Here goes

  • layout the wiring schematic for the room and order necc. cable
  • plan out storage and cabinet footprint and placement
  • pick out and order 4 sconces (just need to point out we still haven’t ordered the sconces for the other rooms yet…yes, its been since february)
  • start researching black out shade options
  • pick out a stain color for wood trim
  • pick out a paint color for the walls and for the ceiling & beams
  • book the floor refinisher
  • order CD storage cabinets
  • find a cabinet maker
  • order the switch plates (like the sconces, the oil rubbed bronze plates for the rest of the house are still not ordered…maybe this will inspire me to just do it!)
  • order the projector screen

Long over due…

The final results of repainting the pine paneled room….

Its been awhile since we finished the “fix” on this room – but hadn’t shared photos of the outcome.
